At G.I.R.L.S. Rock Sacramento, we believe in the transformative power of collaboration, and our commitment to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment for the youth we serve has always been the center of our work. GRS celebrates the uniqueness that each individual—camper or mentor—brings to our community. In a society (and music industry) that often marginalizes girls and gender-expansive youth, we’re dedicated to creating a different kind of environment—one where competition takes a backseat to collaboration, and where everyone is encouraged to shine. Our goal is to shift the culture from gossip, judgement, and exclusion to one of inclusivity, acceptance, and solidarity.
We hold a strong commitment to honoring and uplifting marginalized youth and recognize the unique experiences and challenges faced by them in a world that often limits their potential through harmful stereotypes and systemic barriers. Our programs are designed to empower and inspire, and allow our campers the freedom to express their authentic selves, explore their creative tendencies, and build confidence through music and community.
