WISTERIA
Composed of veteran GRS campers and alumni, WISTERIA is the audition-based house band that represents G.I.R.L.S. Rock Sacramento on stage at special events, festivals, and local performing arts venues. All band members are between the ages of 13 and 18, and serve as role models and peer mentors in the GRS community.
Please Note: As we work to empower our youth participants through music education and do not require them to know how to play instruments before attending our programs, the majority of our youth are not experienced enough to perform at events. In most cases, they have only written and performed one song at camp and don’t have the capacity to work as professional musicians.
WISTERIA is an exception to the above, as these are veteran and alumni participants who are more advanced at their instruments and experienced performers. We do not encourage WISTERIA to perform for free on behalf of GRS and we advocate for them in that regard.
Please allow a minimum of one month’s notice for booking, as school/family schedules, rehearsals, transportation, and equipment coordination must be considered.
